You can use ReelSaver completely anonymously without providing any personally identifiable information (PII).

2. Information Processed Locally on Your Device

  • Video URLs: The links you paste into the app are processed temporarily solely to fetch metadata and direct video stream links necessary to perform your requested download.
  • Local Download History: Records of your downloaded videos (titles, thumbnails, duration, local file paths) are stored locally in an offline database on your device (using SQLDelight/SQLite). This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
  • Downloaded Files: Saved media files (reels, videos) are saved directly into your device's local storage/gallery.

3. Permissions Requested and Why We Need Them

To provide video saving functionality, ReelSaver may request the following permissions on your device:

  • Storage / Photos & Media (Android & iOS): Required to write downloaded media files to your device's media gallery/storage and display downloaded videos within the app.
  • Network / Internet Access: Required to communicate with video content delivery networks and fetch media files for downloading.
  • Notifications (Optional): Used to notify you when a background video download has completed or if an error occurs.

You can revoke these permissions at any time through your device's system settings.

4. Third-Party Services and Analytics

To ensure app reliability, performance, and stability, ReelSaver utilizes reputable third-party services:

  • Google Firebase Crashlytics & Remote Config: Used to monitor app performance, identify crash reports, and provide app updates. These tools collect non-identifiable diagnostic metrics (e.g., device model, OS version, crash stack traces). Learn more at Google Privacy & Terms.
  • In-App Purchases & Subscriptions: If you purchase premium features or subscriptions, transactions are processed securely through the official app stores (Google Play Billing or Apple App Store). We do not receive or store your financial or payment details.

5. Disclaimer & Intellectual Property Rights

ReelSaver is an independent utility tool and is NOT affiliated with, sponsored by, authorized by, or endorsed by Instagram, Meta Platforms, Inc., or any other third-party platform.

All trademarks, logos, and brand names are the property of their respective owners. Users must strictly comply with the following:

  • You must obtain permission from the content owner before downloading or reposting any media.
  • ReelSaver is designed for personal and archival use only. We are not responsible for any copyright or intellectual property violations resulting from unauthorized downloads or distributions by users.

ReelSaver does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Economic Area). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly take appropriate action.

  • Since we do not collect personal data on remote servers, all your data (download history, saved files, app settings) is stored locally on your device.
